This year TLC is part of the national public awareness Will Power campaign to inspire Canadians to use their Wills to make a difference for the causes they care about. I invite you to take advantage of their free resources to help you envision how you can change the world – while still taking care of your loved ones. Will Power shares details on how to leave a gift in your estate, finding an estate lawyer or notary, online will services, and more.

TLC’s feature on the Will Power website includes a Legacy Calculator where you can see for yourself what even 1% of your estate can do for conservation. A passion for conservation combined with a bit of planning can protect vital habitat for future generations to enjoy.

You can also view TLC’s planned giving guide, Creating Your Green Legacy, to view information specific to leaving a gift to TLC in your Will. Should you have any questions about planned giving with TLC, please reach out to Lisa Cross, TLC’s Donor Relations Manager, at 250-479-8053 or lcross@conservancy.bc.ca.

It’s now more important than ever to work together to ensure these threatened habitats are protected. As people who care about B.C.’s wilderness, we have the opportunity to make a difference and leave this world a better place, for generations to come.

Will Power is a public awareness campaign inspiring Canadians to think differently about the way they donate to charity, and use their Wills to make a powerful contribution.

The campaign is led by the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the CAGP Foundation, in collaboration with the country’s leading charities, financial advisors, and legal professionals. We’ve seen first-hand how ordinary people, donating in more strategic ways, can make a big impact on the causes they care about.

Our goal is to raise the number of Canadians leaving a donation in their Will from 8 to 13 per cent by 2030. Reaching this goal will see Canadians contribute as much as $58B dollars to social good!
