Happy New Year! In the January 2026 edition of the Abkhazi Garden newsletter, read about the New Year Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon event and special acknowledgements to longstanding volunteers. Abkhazi Garden turns 80 this year! To kick off this special anniversary, the garden is hosting a poetry contest in collaboration with the Teahouse at Abkhazi Garden, Planet Earth Poetry, and CHEK News. Submitted poems are inspired by the beauty of the garden and the love shared by the garden’s creators, Prince and Princess Abkhazi. The poetry submission period is now closed. We invite garden and poetry enthusiasts to a live poetry reading event at the Teahouse on February 12th from 5-7 p.m., where the contest winner will be announced on live TV.
