Passport to Nature 2025 is now LIVE!
Spend time in nature with TLC’s 2025 Passport to Nature program with in-person and online events across British Columbia hosted throughout the year!
Grow Your Garden: This year, experience the vibrant and fragrant blossoms at Abkhazi Garden with your family, learn about horticulture and pollinator-friendly planting, and purchase unique plants for your garden at home with events like Rhododenderon Month (April 18 – May 19), the Spring Plant Sale (April 26 & 27), Abkhazi Garden 25th Anniversary Open House, Grandparents Day & Fall Plant Sale (September 7) and the Festive Market series (December 13-14 & 20-21).
Explore Your Ecosystem: Stroll under the tranquil canopy of towering, centuries-old Douglas-fir, western red cedar, and hemlock trees, learn how to identify plants and fungi of the Pacific Northwest, and discover the interconnectivity of the forest with public health and well-being with interpretive walks led by knowledgeable naturalists like Tom Whitfield, Andy MacKinnon, Kem Luther, and Elora Adamson with the Walking Amont Giants (June 8), and Fungi ID Walk (November 8) events.
Give Back to Nature: Get your hands dirty with two invasive species removal events hosted in collaboration with the Greater Victoria Green Team. Join us on April 26th at our Ayum Creek Regional Park conservation covenant in Sooke, to contribute to our 5+ year periwinkle suppression project and to remove English ivy from trees. This project was generously supported by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. On October 4th, get your loppers ready for combatting English ivy, daphne-laurel, English holly and more during our 3rd consecutive year of invasive species removal at our Alston-Stewart Estate in the Blenkinsop Valley.
Get Involved with TLC: Learn more and get involved with TLC projects, education programs, fundraising initiatives, and volunteer opportunities with Critter Day (May 10), Natural Intelligence: How Nature Plans for Future Generations video release (August 13) and our 2025 Annual General Meeting (September 27).
