Wildwood Marsh (also known as Burns Marsh) is an 11-hectare marsh that forms the headwaters of Smit-Forsythe, a fish-bearing stream that is a tributary of the once vibrant Tsolum River. Wildwood Marsh provides essential wildlife habitat for numerous species: 44 species of birds (13 species of waterfowl including Ring-necked Duck and Wood Duck), mink, muskrat, deer, grouse and beaver utilize the Marsh and residents have noted periodic visits by elk, bear, cougar and wolves. This covenant protects, preserves, conserves, maintains and enhances the Land and Amenities as a wildlife habitat reserve while also maintaining the water level on the Land.
