This property is in the Coastal Douglas-fir Moist Maritime biogeoclimatic zone and contains several plant communities designated as Red-Listed (Endangered or Threatened) by the BC Ministry of Environment Conservation Data Centre. The vegetation zones included within this covenant are Mature Second Growth Forest, Woodland, Terrestrial herbaceous, and Riparian areas. The diverse mix of ecosystem types, and the presence of rare and endangered plant communities, make this property regionally significant for conservation. This property is ecologically significant as it contains relatively undisturbed mature second-growth forest, with rocky outcrops supporting Garry oak meadows. Small wetlands and a creek are important wildlife habitat and contribute to regional connectivity.
