Passport to Nature: Bird Walk
March 15, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Join local naturalist Ian Cruickshank to learn about and see a wide suite of birds found in the forests and shores of Ayum Creek, and get a crash course in birding by ear. We will also identify plants and discuss natural history along the way.
Please meet us at Ayum Creek Regional Park Reserve at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 15. From Victoria, drive west towards Sooke on Sooke Road. Ayum Creek Regional Park Reserve is located adjacent to Sooke Road, approximately 40 km west of Victoria, just after the Shell gas station on the left. Park along Sooke Road on the gravel shoulder.
This walk will be moderately difficult due to crossing the creek itself. Please remember to bring a water bottle, sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Don’t forget your binoculars!
