Passport to Nature: Ayum Creek
April 20 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Park Restoration
Presented by TLC’s Maya Irwin and Michelle Thompson along with partners from HAT and CRD
Join TLC, HAT and the CRD as we combat invasive periwinkle at our Ayum Creek covenant on Ayum Creek Regional Park Reserve with the sheet mulching technique. Work will involve laying down cardboard, followed by a thick topping of mulch, to starve out the introduced species and make room for native plants to recolonize the area. We will also be spot targeting zones of Himalayan blackberry and English ivy.
Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own gear if you have it. Solid footwear and appropriate dress are encouraged.
