62 hectares on Cortes Island
Covenanted in 2004
The Property is bounded on the west, north, and south by a closed canopy young forest, and on the east by the ocean (Desolation Sound). The forest cover is dominated by second-growth Douglas-fir, red alder, western red cedar. Arbutus can also be found on the site. The majority of the forest was established following logging in the 1920′s and 30′s. The rocky knolls along the southern border and the eastern edge are generally old forest types.
