0.81 Hectares Located in the District of Sooke, Covenanted in 2000
Known as the Ayum Creek Connector, this 0.81 hectares is now part of the Ayum Creek Park Reserve thanks to the important work led by TLC and the Society for the Protection of Ayum Creek in 1999. Located north of the Galloping Goose trail on Ayum Creek, the property contains salmon spawning habitat of Ayum creek and mature forest. The addition of this protected land to Ayum Creek Park Reserve reduces the potential for habitat fragmentation and ensures the salmon habitat is protected in perpetuity. This property is another valuable link in the Sea to Sea Green/Blue Belt vision. The conservation covenant which is co-held by TLC and Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT) on this land provides the protection in perpetuity of the important salmon spawning stream and riparian forest habitat.
