PSA – TLC OPERATIONS DURING COVID-19

TLC staff and Board of Directors wish to inform members and donors of TLC plans and activities to reduce risks and limit the spread of COVID-19.  Of greatest importance to all of us is the safety and well being of our staff, volunteers, partners, and communities.

In efforts to do our part in decreasing the spread of the virus:

  • TLC staff and Board of Directors are monitoring the situation including recommendations from government. As updates are provided, our team will continue to follow best practices to keep our communities safe.
  • TLC staff and Board of Directors are working remotely whenever possible and staying in touch via online tools to ensure we stay connected and our work continues.
  • The appropriateness of outdoor events is being considered as they near. TLC has cancelled the Abkhazi Garden Volunteer Orientation scheduled for March 31. In addition, the March meeting of the volunteer Abkhazi Advisory Board has been cancelled.
  • Office volunteers and Abkhazi Garden volunteers have been asked to stay home.
  • Abkhazi Garden will be closed to the public effective immediately.

Please do not hesitate to reach out via email to admin@conservancy.bc.ca or membership@conservancy.bc.ca with any questions or concerns. You can also contact TLC at 250-479-8053 or 1-877-485-2422 and staff will return voicemails as soon as possible. Resources including membership and donation information can be found on TLC’s website at www.conservancy.bc.ca.

In times of uncertainty, getting outside for a hike can aid in reducing stress. We encourage our members, donors, volunteers, and partners who wish to do so to follow social distancing recommendations while enjoying the fresh air. We hope communities throughout B.C. will stay safe and look forward to working together in the days to come to ensure the safety and protection of special places.
