On May 3, 2019, we were pleased to welcome back the Ambassador of Georgia, His Excellency Konstantin Kavtaradze. He hosted a reception at the Teahouse at Abkhazi Garden, marking the National day of Georgia, which falls on May 26. Reception guests ranged from government representatives, to past friends, neighbours and contacts of Nicolas and Peggy Abkhazi, and included a representation of Abkhazi Garden volunteers. It was an impressive group!
The Ambassador indicated his interest in continuing to build relationships with Abkhazi Garden, and wrapped up his remarks with a donation in support of all the efforts made to rescue and maintain the garden legacy bearing the Abkhazi name. We recognize and honour this donation of $10,000 as a gesture of incredible support, and look forward to sharing future success together.
