DESCRIPTION:Join Sid Jorna and TLC to learn the basics of navigation in the woods. Technology has provided convenient tools to orient you in the woods but what happens when the battery dies? Learn how to plan a course on a map to get to a destination and compensate for unexpected arisings. The workshop will include theoretical knowledge\, reading a compass and trying out the skills on a short hike. DESCRIPTION:Join Kevin Trim (former SVIMS President) and TLC’s Torrey Archer on a hunt to find and identify mushrooms in the beautiful mature forests at Second Lake. From Highway 1\, turn north onto Millstream Road. Continue on Millstream Road\, veering right at the Y to get onto Millstream Lake Road. At the next Y (with Munn Road) stay left to continue on Millstream Lake Road. Travel onward and turn right at 377 Millstream Lake Road. Continue down the long driveway and take the first right off the driveway to the parking area.
