TLC holds over 100 covenants in the Greater Victoria region protecting important ecological areas, like Ayum Creek.

TLC kicked off its 2014 monitoring program at the beginning of May with visits to covenants on properties donated to the Capital Regional District by landowners including a property off Atkins Road between the Galloping Goose and Millstream Creek, Ayum Creek Regional Park in Sooke, and two large land areas totaling 120 hectares in Mt. Work Regional Park.

The monitoring volunteers accompanied TLC staff to observe and record the condition of the covenanted properties. As well as making sure the intentions of the landowners are upheld, over time the data collected can be used to assess changes to the ecological health of natural places.

Your support for the covenant program ensures stewardship of the covenants continues. Donations can be made here.

Volunteers accompany staff to monitor each covenant and gather ecological data.

A fun and great learning experience for UVic students.
